THE ORGANIZATION:

In 2019, NorthConsulting was founded to cater for executive coaching and management consultancy firm. Our client list (see below) includes corporate entities from a wide section of industries. We have held workshops and conducted coaching seminars.

Post Covid, there’s been a dearth of qualified consultants in the Electric Vehicle (EV) industry in Pakistan. Realizing this opportunity, a core team of professionals were added to the team and got together under the umbrella of North Consulting to bridge the gap.

Introduction to the core team follows. The team structure is quite flat and it has been our model that whatever expertise is not available inhouse, the team has outsourced under personal supervision, retaining consultants of other fields.

The team has a fluid structure and is open to work with other Industry players too across Pakistan.

Tariq S. Shaikh

Tariq works between Dubai and Lahore after more than a decade working abroad putting up power plants for GE across the MENA region, to pursue his passion in Renewable Energies (RE). As COO for GE Power Projects organization, he oversaw the rapid electrification of the power grid, construction of large-scale utility Power plants in the MENAI region first hand. Has a background in Project Management (PMP), Supply Chain, Material & Inventory Management, Contract Administration and Quality (Green Belt six sigma) across chemical and manufacturing industries, having spent first 13 years in Pakistan with leading multinationals.

His engineering (UET Electrical) and business management (EMBA-LUMS) background motivated him to step into the EV world, trying to develop a local engineered kit for motorcycle conversions, in addition to consulting for Renewable Energy initiatives.

Tariq has travelled to 25 countries, speaks elementary French, German and Arabic and likes playing golf.

Najam Shah

Najam an MBA from LUMS, has over 25 years of experience in various senior and middle management positions. With a unique experience of developing and managing operations of new sites Najam is suited to handle operations of any new venture. By blending his operations experience with his EI certifications Najam brings a lot of value to training a team for any new environment. Najam’s experience with a local corporate group, that is also a leading automotive parts supplier, lends him the capability to handle supply chain side of the business.

Dr. Farrukh Kamran

Dr. Farrukh Kamran has a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech, USA. He is an academician (taught at GIKI,  NUST and CASE with two PhD and 10+ MS graduates under his supervision, 32 international publications including 6 in International journals) and a professional engineer.

He currently serves as CTO at Sky Electric Islamabad where he is responsible for product design and technology leadership. 

As Vice President Engineering at CARE, he has led a team of over 50 engineers working on products and projects related to communications and embedded systems. Previously he served as the Vice President Engineering at Enabling Technologies, a US venture funded Telecommunication Company, providing technical leadership to a team of over 130 engineers involved in various disciplines of ICT. His team developed multiple ASICs for carrier-grade VoIP applications.

Dr. Farrukh’s core expertise is system design with ability to conceive products by picking the right technology and design for various sub systems ensuring manufacturability, survivability and durability in real life and extreme conditions.
